Flying High on the 4th of July

These past two days, we've made our rounds as regular tourists, wandering about all of the memorials, the capitol, the library of congress, and close to all of the museums on the National Mall. So here are some quick pictures. Quick note before you see the pictures, if you're planning on coming to DC and want to tour the capitol, definitely pre-arrange a tour with a senator from your state. I had no idea this option existed, but a family friend told me to do so, and I was so grateful. You get essentially a private tour, as compared to tours of 30-40 people, skip all of the lines, and get to travel to normally closed off areas of the capitol. So pictures, here we go.

And then we're here, today, on the 4th of July. Tonight, a sure trip to the National Mall for the fireworks in DC will happen, and we just came back from flying. And not just as passengers, but as actual pilots (at cruise altitude, but hey, we turned some...).

And tomorrow, we return back to Utah after a week spent in the nation's capital. An incredibly memorable week it was, and now I'm getting pumped for Spain. Well, until then I guess, and for now, Happy 4th of July!
